Schaefer’s 2011

DASH FOR CASH

During the holiday’s we had a feud in the agency, who could would win in a race between Bailey and her boss, Nick? There was only one way to settle the dispute: we met, outside, at 4 pm and settled things with a good ol’ fashion street race.

Since words can’t describe the emotions of this race, you must watch the video put together by 13-year old Sam Schaefer, who took time from his Christmas vacation to document the race - it was that big of a deal.

There’s never a dull moment at our offices! We recently created a Christmas video for our client, TTI Inc. Shot entirely at our office, this video is a little snip-it of what our team and neighbors got to hear during filming - and the car is just plain awesome.

We started this project brainstorming ideas for TTI’s holiday card and thought a video would fit in nicely with the rest of TTI’s Specialist campaign. With help from our friends at Track Daddy Productions for filming and editing, TTI’s “holiday card” is a must see.

View the the Christmas video here, can you believe this was shot in a 1/2 day?

Also, be sure to look for the two Schaefer people that make their film debuts - Oscar will be calling.

A Schaefer Christmas Party

Everyone’s doing it…It’s time to make the rounds at company Christmas parties. This year we added a twist to our extravaganza. We started the night by spreading a little Christmas cheer to our fellow Fort Worthians (Is that word?? I’m still relatively new here) in Sundance Square, hopped on a party bus, dined at our office and finished the night at Pete’s Piano Bar.

Did I mention we were in costume? Here are a few notable look-a-likes from our group.

Stay jolly,
~Kristin

A ‘Supreme’ Night

The Schaefer crew enjoyed a beautiful night at the 2011 Fort Worth Zoo Ball Saturday. The food was delicious, the drinks were flowing and the legendary Diana Ross took us all back to the Motown Days.

Listening to her belt out hits like “Baby Love,” “I’m Coming Out” and “Where Did Our Love Go” from the Supremes and her solo albums definitely got everyone into the groove.

Things got a little wild - good thing we’re party animals.

Why I get up in the morning to go to work:

So in my first post on the blog (pressure is on) I wanted to look at one of my favorite aspects of working in the advertising industry – the advertising agency culture. Working in this field you are surrounded by bright, energetic, talented individuals who are constantly trying to solve problems in a creative way. You are encouraged to dream big and yet the smallest idea might be the key component to success for your clients. So brainstorming and ideation is a must. That being said, agencies go to great lengths to ensure their employees have the optimal environment to grow their ideas. This includes everything from having open floor plans to encourage collaboration, keeping snacks on hand for brainpower, alcohol in the fridge to take the edge off of looming deadlines and off-site activities for team building. Our industry is charged with coming up with big ideas at a furious pace and it is not an environment well suited for everyone – but those who do thrive in this kind of culture tend to embrace the challenges and love the journey.

Ad Age has recently posted the Best Places to Work in 2011 and although Schaefer Advertising wasn’t one of them (we didn’t put our name in the hat, because we didn’t qualify due to our size) it is obvious that our agency embodies many of the characteristics of the winners. Check out some of the employee confessionals from the winning agencies here, I have no doubt that one day Schaefer Advertising will join the ranks of Best Places to Work by Ad Age. Stay tuned.
