Vote for JPS… They’re The Best

The  emergency medicine residents at JPS Health Network have produced and entered a video in the EMP’s 3rd Annual Best in Emergency Medicine Video Challenge.

EMP’s Video Challenge is an opportunity for emergency medicine residents to document why their residency program is the best in the country. Creativity is welcomed, entries can be funny, sentimental, informative or crazy.

The American College of Graduate Medical Education approved the JPS Emergency Medicine Residency Program in July 2009 as the largest EM Residency startup ever – JPS is truly the best.

First place in the challenge wins $10,000 for their residency program. You can vote through January 31, 2012 at this link: www.emp.com/we-the-best-2011-video-challenge

I’m happy to share the news that Schaefer Advertising Co. is working with Texas Christian University on its institutional branding campaign.

TCU wanted to elevate and highlight the university’s academic experience to prospective students and their families. The strategic goal of the campaign we created is to increase public understanding of TCU as a world class institution with a reputation for excellence. We worked to emphasize the academic rigor of TCU while continuing to showcase TCU’s unique campus experience and culture. There is more to come with this campaign, so keep an eye out.

Schaefer Advertising was especially excited to work with TCU as we have many team members that are alumni.
Go frogs!

Mark your calendar: Nov. 12, 2011 is the American Cancer Society’s Cowtown Ball.

This year is the Cowtown Ball’s 19th birthday. The Cowtown Ball is an event that raises funds to aid local and national research initiatives, patient services and programs, so the world can be filled with less cancer and more birthdays.

The theme of this year’s Cowtown Ball is “The Cowtown Showdown,” so we developed this ad that is currently running in Fort Worth, Texas magazine.

We are also developing the event invitation, which will be mailed this fall.  Stay tuned for more updates and the latest news about the “The Cowtown Showdown.”

Approximately 6 percent of individuals in Tarrant County have been diagnosed with diabetes. Diabetes complications can be serious and include heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, blindness, kidney disease, neuropathy and amputation.

Given this, JPS Health Network identified the need to educate Tarrant County of the issue and create awareness that JPS is a resource that can help patients control diabetes.

That’s where we came in.

We developed a campaign that sent a strong message with visual punch that isn’t expected from traditional healthcare marketing.

The campaign executions include outdoor, print and transit and can be seen around Tarrant County now.

In Tarrant County, more than 20 percent of the population has been diagnosed with hypertension.

One of the most effective ways to combat this problem is through proactive blood pressure screening and preventative care. JPS Health Network desired to encourage preventative health and build loyalty at its community health centers. Based on research conducted by BSAPR, the agency made the recommendation to focus first on hypertension, then prenatal care and finally,  diabetes management.

The resulting campaign and creative direction takes an unexpected view of the problem than what you typically see from hospital marketing. Instead of a friendly photo of a doctor, the campaign uses the image of a grenade to illustrate the “ticking time bomb” dangers posed to your heart if it is subject to long-term high blood pressure. The campaign executions include outdoor, print and transit and can be seen around Tarrant County now.

The additional community health campaigns are in development. Stay tuned for the reveal of those.

BSAPR Returns to the Wild, Wild West for Cowtown Ball

BSAPR is proud to work with the American Cancer Society in Fort Worth. Last year, the agency worked with ACS to produce promotional and collateral materials for its major annual fundraiser, the Cowtown Ball.

Beginning in January, we developed the design concept to support the ball’s 2010 theme, “The Wild, Wild West Show.” BSAPR created invitations for the  launch party, the Benz, Bourbon & Bubbly party and the actual Cowtown Ball. We also created a finance packet to support the organization with securing underwriters.

Additionally, BSAPR created a fun, interactive video to follow-up on the printed invitation.

The best part? Knowing we played a small part in helping the 2010 Cowtown Ball raise nearly $500,000. Giddyup!

Campaign Causes Spontaneous Dancing

Blanchard Schaefer worked with Freeman to create a direct marketing promotion to launch Freeman’s newly improved iPlanner+. The campaign consisted of an email blast, introductory video and sales support collateral.

BSAPR created the theme for the campaign “Outbreak of Spontaneous Dancing” to demonstrate the the ease of use and powerful functionality of the new iPlanner+. The video captures the essence of the fast-paced and exciting world of event planning.

iPlanner+  by Freeman is an online tool that helps meeting planners create efficiencies by managing planning documents in one place. (There are approximately 1,000 files associated with the average event. Holy cow! That’s a lot to manage so this new tool from Freeman is sure to be a hit.)

Here’s a look at the email that Freeman clients received, which linked them to the video:
