CD Ski & Sports has a brand new Fort Worth space and a new look to go along with it!  CD Ski has expanded it’s retail space to make way for new product brands (Ugg and Mountain Hardwear) and allow for a better shopping experience.  The experience includes a full DJ booth, so you can jam in the dressing rooms. They also refreshed the brand with a new, edgy logo and brand graphics.

Want to check out the new digs?  This Saturday, 10/29, CD Ski is hosing a re-grand opening event from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  The day will be filled with music, drinks, food, FREE giveaways, great discounts and a whole lot of fun.  If you stop by, be sure to bring your used coats to donate for a discount on a new coat.

Just in time for TCU’s Parents Weekend, CD Ski & Sports launches their new brand campaign.  If you are anywhere near the TCU campus this week, you might see these promotional cards floating around with a pretty great discount offer. 

CD Ski & Sports has just moved into a new spacious area, with plenty of room to merchandise their new line of UGG, The North Face, Marmot and Mountain Hardware product coming in this Fall. While the new space is still under renovation, there will be a grand opening evening that you WON’T want to miss.  More details to come on that later.

Last week we finished our CD Ski & Sports photo shoot for their fall apparel and winter gear. The entire shoot was a very exciting process, especially for me because it was my first photo shoot!

So much more goes on behind the scenes than you think. It took two days and several locations including Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth, TCU and even our office on Magnolia.

Early birds get the great shots. We started at 6:30 a.m. with hair, make-up and wardrobe. Shooting began, multiple wardrobe changes occurred, hair and make-up needed to be refreshed, locations had to be set up and the models needed to be directed.

While that was all going on, the team also had to ensure the photos looked great. We were constantly tweaking details of the models’ wardrobe, which meant running (sometimes literally) back and forth to grab different accessories. In addition, everyone needed energy to keep up with the fast-pace, the caffeine was flowing!

Styling was the fun part for me: getting to choose the looks and deciding whether this look needs a hat or not.  I also saw amazing boots that I want for myself. Guess I’ll have to make a trip to CD Ski & Sports soon.

We also got to use two very cool cars in our shoot. Hydraulics were involved.

On TCU’s campus we got a few funny looks; we were shooting winter apparel in August after all.

That’s a wrap!

Schaefer Advertising spent the last two days around Fort Worth and on TCU’s campus shooting advertisements for CD Ski and Sports’ new Fall Apparel and Winter Gear.

A big thanks to our awesome team (photographer, make-up artist, models) - the pictures look awesome. We can’t reveal them yet, but we’ll tease you with a sneak peak. Stay tuned more behind the scenes info to come!

Snow Bunny Success: BSAPR Helps Specialty Retailer Heat Up Its Marketing 

Background: A retailer of premium ski, snowboard and wakeboard apparel and equipment, CD SKi & Sport had three Metroplex locations, each separately branded and marketed. 

Strategy: Blanchard Schaefer recommended integrating the brand under one umbrella name and messaging strategy, with the goal of increasing brand awareness and distinguishing the brand as experts versus the big box sports retailers. 

Tactics: The integrated campaign utilized print and outdoor advertising as well as a new website. 

Results: The increased brand awareness led to a 19% increase in sales – the largest single-season increase in the company’s history.
